ASSISTANT TEACHER

Requirements: must be at least 16 years old, able to pass a required background check, obtain CPR certification and complete orientation training. Experience in a child care setting preferred, but not required. Must agree that children are to be honored and respected.

The assistant teacher position entails:

  • Assisting lead teacher with implementing daily lesson plans,
  • Assist in documentation on observations of each child to be used for curriculum planning and parent teacher conferences.
  • Providing a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Rotate toys and materials in classroom to keep up with curriculum themes.
  • Implement all STARS to Quality requirements.
  • Keep track and maintain 16 trainings ours annually.
  • Attend all staff meetings and staff training days.
  • Serve breakfast, lunch and snack, supervise naptime, as well as outdoor time and help with minor upkeep of the Center.
  • Assist lead teacher in keeping rooms decorated and inviting for the children and families.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Flexible schedule Monday – Friday 7:30am – 5:30pm
  • May be asked to work in multiple classrooms.

The teacher must ensure the safety and welfare of each child at Firefly, including providing the highest quality care and supporting the goals and objectives of Firefly.

 

 

LEAD PRESCHOOL TEACHER

Requirements: must have at least 2 years’ experience in a licensed facility with 32 early childhood training hours, an AA or higher in early childhood education or a related field, or 60 early childhood training hours.

Lead Teachers are responsible for enforcing all Firefly and MT State licensing requirements.

The teacher position entails:

  • Planning and implementing a daily lesson plan using Little Acorn Curriculum (in line with the Montana Early Learning Standards), teaching circle time, and supervising up to the maximum number of children according to MT State Licensing Ratios.
  • Regular communication with each child’s parent, including providing critical information about the child’s day.
  • Keep documentation on observations of each child to be used for curriculum planning and parent teacher conferences.
  • Plan activities for and attend all family events.
  • Rotate toys and materials in classroom to keep up with curriculum themes.
  • Implement all STARS to Quality requirements.
  • Keep track and maintain 16 trainings ours annually.
  • Attend all staff meetings and staff training days.
  • Serve breakfast, lunch and snack, supervise naptime, as well as outdoor time and help with minor upkeep of the Center.
  • Keeping rooms decorated and inviting for the children and families.
  • Help train new staff members to uphold and follow all Firefly and Licensing policies and requirements.
  • Being a leader and role model of our program and policies/procedures.

The teacher must ensure the safety and welfare of each child at Firefly, including providing the highest quality care and supporting the goals and objectives of Firefly.
